Plant of the Future

Living in the fertile shallows of our coastal regions, seaweeds and other marine algae are exceptionally adept at drawing and storing nutrients and other active biological components from the waters around them. However, only now, in the 21st century, are human beings beginning to view these unique properties as the basis for new on-shore applications...

Here at Sea-Chem we have already successfully developed seaweed extracts into, amongst other things, a highly effective bioremediation agent for contaminated soil, a heavy duty metal degreaser, and an organic growth enhancer.  But, in truth, we are only just beginning to learn about the true potential of these unique plants...

Now, in 2011, with the planet coming under increasing strain from global warming, chemical pollution and depleted oil stocks, new and sustainable resources are needed more than ever. We believe that seaweed will play a huge part in mankind's response to these challenges, and we aim to be at the forefront of its exploration.
