Sea Clean Industrial Degreaser

Our Sea Clean Industrial Degreaser constitutes a powerful and versatile – yet ecological and sustainable – cleaning product. Derived chiefly from the Laminaria Digitata species of seaweed, Sea Clean is highly effective at removing stubborn grease and grime from both metal or plastic surfaces. Indeed, it has been independently proven to be 97.5% as effective as chemical based degreasers, whilst being easier to store and handle, having no corrosive effects, and being completely harmless to the environment.

A New Alternative to TCE

Trichloroethylene (TCE) – a powerful industrial solvent – has traditionally been considered the most effective degreasing agent available. However, Sea Clean Industrial Degreaser was proven to match it in efficacy by up to 97.5% in an independent study recently carried out by Pera. In any case, many of TCE’s applications were actually outlawed at the end of 2010, owing to its chemical instability and detrimental health effects. As a result, our organic degreaser is now as effective as any product – chemical or otherwise – currently on the market.

Highly Versatile

Fully stable in hard water, Sea Clean Industrial Degreaser will remove oil and grease from both metal and plastic surfaces in a variety of contexts. Below are some of the more common applications for the product.

Component Washing

Sea Clean Industrial Degreaser is used expansively in the component washing industry, being suited to this application both in dip tanks, ultrasonic cleaning machines and washing by hand.

Electroplating

Sea Clean Industrial Degreaser can be used as a pretreatment during the electroplating process. It helps to removes all impurities from metal surfaces, which allows for better results when the items are treated in a plating bath.

Plastic Washing and Recycling

Sea Clean Industrial Degreaser is just as effective at degreasing plastics as it is metals. Hence, there is wide scope for it to be applied within the ever-expanding plastic washing and recycling industry. In this proactively green industry, the use of chemical cleaners is unfortunately still common.

Domestic & Commercial Applications

Low-Risk

Sea Clean Industrial Degreaser is neither flammable nor hazardous to health, which ensures that the product is incredibly low-risk to store and handle on site. In fact, because it is derived only from natural substances, it is exempt from COSHH certification altogether.

Cost Effective

Because Sea Clean Industrial Degreaser is effective at lower temperatures (45 degrees compared to 65 degrees for a typical caustic-based product, and requiring 20% less immersion time), the operator is able to make considerable savings on heating costs. Furthermore, unlike many solvents, our degreaser does not evaporate at room temperature, so no product is wasted in this respect.
