Product Profile: Sea Power 101
Sea Power 101 (SC4101) harvests the natural power of Laminaria Digitata – a brown kelp seaweed farmed off the Irish coast – for application in the land remediation industry. It is effective in two ways: its micronutrients stimulate native soil bacteria and initiate the natural bioremediation process; meanwhile, its surfactants help emulsify oils, making them easier to digest. Combining these two processes, Sea Power 101 produces excellent results in both in-situ and ex-situ contexts; and as it comes from a sustainable, biodegradable source, it currently represents the greenest possible choice for bioremediation, eradicating the need for additional chemicals and high temperatures.
- Dual Effect: Combining the individual advantages of applying both micronutrients and biosurfactants, Sea Power 101 has been independently proven to reduce bioremediation times by 50% when compared to traditional on-site methods. Furthermore, it has been shown to be such an effective product that large-scale projects can even be carried out in the middle of winter.
- Hydrocarbon Busting: Helps break down a wide range of hydrocarbon pollutants, including aliphatic and aromatic compounds; fuel oils and crude oils; glycol and other solvents; certain halogenated compounds; alkanes up to C44H90; polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB); and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH).
- Versatile: Liquid product can be easily applied in a range of different remediation scenarios, including direct surface application; direct spray on contaminated surface water; in-situ injection (in sandy soils); in-situ and ex-situ soil washing; and controlled application on biopiles and windrows.
- Cost Effective: Sea Power 101 allows more jobs to be carried out much more quickly than traditional methods, which means that the operational savings of using it can potentially be massive.
